Have you tried the XP drivers in compatability mode? Many scrappier motherboard manufacturers make a better effort. This driver might be worth trying: It looks like your board is too old for Windows 7 dp965lh.
System and Maximum TDP is based on worst case scenarios. Sound driver problem on XP I hope someone here can help with this.
